Still looking for bugs

As a self-titled data nerd, I love using data to answer questions and build products. While writing my dissertation on the evolutionary ecology of parasites, I taught myself the programming language R to analyze my data and I realized coding is where my passion lies.

Hackbright Academy gave me the opportunity to learn the pipeline of application development, from cleaning and storing data to analyzing and displaying information on the front-end. For my final project, wikiGraph, I tackled the challenges of scaling code to efficiently query over 11 million entries. I'm continuing to learn new technology stacks and build projects.

Courage is more exhilarating than fear and in the long run it is easier. We do not have to become heroes overnight. Just a step at a time, meeting each thing that comes up, seeing it is not as dreadful as it appeared, discovering we have the strength to stare it down.
